The young English organist Clive Driskill-Smith wowed listeners with his virtuosic playing of Willan, Durufle, Widor, Mozart and Howells. His witty comments included introducing Healey Willan as "English by birth, Canadian by adoption, Irish by descent and Scotch by absorption!". Driskill-Smith's playing of the world premiere of Toccata by Paul Keith, who attended the concert, was well received. The wild and furiously rapid conclusion of Rossini's William Tell Overture (transcribed by Lemare) brought down the house!
